This week, I want to share a picture from one of the prettiest places I’ve been in Spain – Segovia. I feel like I say every Spanish city is one of the prettiest, but it’s true!

Spain-Segovia-cathedral-lions-sunset

I went to Segovia back in March on a long weekend. Before I went, I had no idea what to expect. Segovia’s main attraction is the huge Roman aqueduct, so the beautiful cathedral surprised me. At this point, giant gorgeous religious buildings in Spain really shouldn’t surprise me (almost every town has something stunning), but they still do!

Segovia’s cathedral is right on the city’s Plaza Mayor, so there’s lots of outdoor seating to admire the building from. It’s a pretty building, but it turned into something amazing around sunset. The whole cathedral was bathed in beautiful golden light, and it seemed to almost be glowing. The light only lasted a few minutes, sadly.

So this is my favorite sunset shot, of one of the little lion sculptures guarding the cathedral. I love the colors and the light. But my favorite thing about this picture is that the lion looks like he’s having a quick afternoon bird snack. This one makes me smile every time I see it.

Besos!
