Hello everyone! I’m back from my holiday week (I had intended to post while away in Dublin but then decided I was having too much fun to blog). So, it’s time for this week’s holiday episode of MyBarcelona, which is all about two of Catalunya’s rather, er, unique holiday traditions.
Come and find out all about the Caganer and the Caga Tió. Fancy adding one of these scatalogical figures to your holiday decorations this year?
I’ll be heading home for the holidays on Friday, and I can’t wait to celebrate in style on the West Coast!
How are you celebrating the holidays this year? Would you add a Caganer or a Caga Tió to your holiday decorations?
Bonas festes!

I remember you talking about these pooping figurines last year. What an… unusual tradition! I found it amusing the store you visited decided to place Nicolas Sarkozy (the former French president) next to Fidel Castro! Not so sure what that says about Sarko haha.
Hahaha true! It’s definitely unusual, I’ve never seen anything else quite like this!
Great video! The poop never ceases to crack me up. So jealous you’re going to California for the holidays. Eat lots of fish tacos and In N Out for me!

Will do! 🙂 Enjoy some sopa de galets for me in Barcelona! Merry Christmas.
Great video! I enjoy these traditions so much, I brought them home to Canada and include them in my holiday celebrations!

Thanks very much! They are definitely some fun traditions to incorporate. 🙂 Merry Christmas!
I LOVE the cagatios! I wouldn’t do anything else but buying them!
Too bad this year I will not make it to be in BCN for the fira 🙁

Aww that’s too bad! I heard from a fellow blogger who made her own out of a toilet paper tube – perhaps a DIY substitute is in order? 🙂
These things are so gross and weird, I just don’t get it!
Been a while since I visited. Blog’s looking great Jess!
I don’t get them either. My friends think they’re funny, but I still think they’re gross. And thanks!
