A few months ago, I started noticing that something amazing was happening to the street signs in Barcelona. Slowly, fun bits of graffiti were being splashed all over the traffic signs. Some of them are silly, some of them are weird, and some of them are gross, but all of them are definitely creative. I’m almost always on the lookout for these updated street signs and love finding new ones. Here are some of my favorite pieces of Barcelona street sign art I’ve found….so far!
Spotted in GrΓ cia:
This one is right around the corner from my new piso:
Not my best photographic work (it was taken during a big night out), but I like this one:
A rather realistic bird:
A gentleman picking a flower (look at that hat!):
An angel at the end of the road:
A more grim take on the trend:
And to finish, a variation on the gentleman, the policeman vomiting hearts (my personal favorite):
What’s your favorite piece of Barcelona street sign art? Have you spotted any cool street art in your city lately? Tell me about it in the comments!
Besos!

I love these street signs! I saw a Jesus one recently (I want to say in Madrid or Italy?) and that grim stock man in Brussels. In Paris there’s a common one of a dude ‘stealing’ the bar. Also I think that last one looks like a police officer kissing the sign π

I’ve seen the Jesus one and the stealing ones in Barcelona, but I didn’t get a picture of them. I like hearing what other people think the signs look like, because some of them are ambiguous.
I love this!!!!!!! Nothing like this happening in Toledo just yet… or not that I have noticed. Will keep an eye out π

Me too! π
Loved these!!! Was thinking ind doing a photo serie of them but ooppss, too slow!!! hahahaha. And my favorite street art in Barcelona are those little Space Invaders by French artist Invader!!!

I like the Space Invaders too! I’m sure you’ve seen some of these that I haven’t spotted yet.
I wonder if this is another Invader type graffiti artist who adds his “take” on the street signs throughout the different countries he visits? It would be fun to see this kind of thing in NYC too!
I think so! I’ve heard about them in a few other European cities. I think they’re so cool!
So Barcelona got its very own Banksy! Love this sort of art. So rebellious and creative. Did you see Space Invader in Bilbao?
I didn’t see Space Invaders in Bilbao, but I have spotted a few in Barcelona! I love street art, it’s so much fun.
There’s loads like this in Naples too. My personal favourite had PacMan eating the white line. Come to think of it that’s probably the only thing I liked in the entire city… π

That sounds cool! Haha sounds like Naples wasn’t a great trip though…what didn’t you like about it?
Ooh I love these! I was just in Budapest and didn’t see any there, but will be on the lookout from now on!

Cool! Let me know if you find any. π
Gotta love these! I spent a week touring Barcelona with my Dad’s Classical Band when I was 12 – Exciting hey! π – and have always fancied going back. I didn’t really pick up on these then but the street art was amazing.

Sounds like a great trip! There is tons of fab street art all around the city, it’s always fun to discover new pieces.
LOL, they are all either cute or amusing. I would love to see them here in China as well :).

You could have a go at putting them up yourself! π Not sure how strict they are about graffiti though…
What fun, Jessica! I missed all of those π
