The best part about traveling to a place for a long time is that you get to discover its little secrets – like this very well-kept one in Santa María del Mar church in the Born district.
Barcelona is pretty famous for its fútbol obsession, and that’s especially clear in this gorgeous Catalan gothic church, which reveals why being a Barça fan is definitely a religious experience.
Enjoy!
Adeu, amics. 🙂

With so much to see, that FCB symbol is easy to miss. Hopefully the donation to the Church was all done legally. I saw the game this weekend and looks like the tax scandal is affecting their game. Messi and Neymar could not win in Euskadi again. It was funny to see Tata Martino sitting in the stands away from the team.

It’s VERY easy to miss; it took me three visits actively looking for it to find the symbol!
I haven’t been following this season at all, but all the tax stuff is pretty outrageous.
today Barsa have donated more money……almost 9 million Euro, right to Hacienda (the Spain’s tax department)…..what a scandal and corruption!! Barsa have lied their members and supporters about the real price of Brazilian footballer Neymar.
as for obssesion…i would say that Barsa have always been obssessed with Madrid 🙂
Haha they are definitely obsessed with Madrid! The money scandal is really appalling, I agree.
oh sorry….it is 13 millon, not 9 as i said above…yes it is a shame, you know, Barsa did criticise Madrid after signing Gareth Bale for 90 million, saying it is too much money…and now it appears that the signing of Neymar is about 140 million because of the money his father has received “under the table”.
It was very interesting,I didnt know it, thanks jessica. We have something similar in Galicia :)because a window of the Santiago Cathedral was also “donated” by Ronaldinho, a famous Barcelona player. He was shoting a tv-commercial in the main door of the cathedral and he did an stupid scissor kick and the ball broke the window and he had paid it. Sounds weird but it was real.

Hi,
I have recently watched a few of your videos and I have to say I totally admire them. You are very pretty and a perfect voice to narrate great footage. Thank you for letting us see inside some of the most wonderful places in Barcelona. I am currently writing about Antoni Gaudi and Catalan Identity, it is so fascinating to me. I am also a huge fan of FCB

Although we’re certainly not fans of Barça in the Gran Canaria Local household, we do enjoy your vids. Keep them coming, Jessica. This one was fascinating.
