Happy Wednesday, everyone! Here’s one of my favorite pictures from my trip to Castilla y León – the beautiful Segovia cathedral at sunset.
The pretty city is famous for its huge Roman aqueduct (which definitely still works!), but my favorite part of my visit was wandering through the cobblestoned streets as the sun set over the countryside. The cathedral lit up and turned golden, and you can just see the beginnings of the pinky-orange sunset in the lower left hand corner.
My favorite part of the picture is the lucky timing I had with the flock of birds bursting out of the tallest tower. I managed to catch them at what I guess was a pretty exciting moment in their day, because there were tons of them flying around!
Unfortunately, as far as my life goes, I don’t think there are going to be too many exciting moments for the next couple weeks – I’ve got a sinus infection. Lots of antibiotics = no parties for me. And it might mean a little less posting this week too, because the only thing I want to do is watch junk T.V. in my pajamas. I hope you’re all feeling better than I am!
Besos!

Ugh, I feel you on the sinuses! Between the allergies and my cold and my master’s, I feel like the only logical solution is to watch Arrested Development and eat chocolate. I don’t even really like chocolate.
Haha that is exactly what I’ve been doing too! Arrested Development + chocolate makes things a little better.
Aw, that sucks. The sinusitis, NOT the pic 😉
I’m completely pathetic when I’m not well. You have my fullest sympathies. Cake helps.
Am due to visit Segovia the weekend after next, hurraaah!
Cake is always a good idea!
Hope you enjoy your travels to Segovia.
Feel better!
Thanks! 🙂
Fabulous photograph. We just returned from a great trip to Spain. Look after yourself and feel better soon.
Thank you very much, Darlene!
Love Segovia and its cathedral. 🙂 Also feel better, sinus infections are the worst! I had a particularly bad one during my Master’s spring break while I was at NYU living in Madrid. Most miserable week of my life!
Me too, it’s such a pretty city!
Ugh that must have sucked to get a sinus infection on spring break. They are really not fun!
Raw onions and brandy.
Ooh that’d knock any illness right out of you! Perhaps I’ll give it a go…
What a beautiful photo and experience (excluding the sick part). I was here when I was 18 and also remember the rolling countryside you can see from the cathedral.
Thanks very much! Segovia has amazing views of the countryside, you’re right. I went in winter, so everything was brown and dead and it was still pretty.
Gorgeous shot. That’s funny…I just put a photo up from my visit back in 2010 onto my photography blog.
Thanks very much! I’m really loving your photography blog, by the way. It’s so great!

We have been checking out your blog and we must say that we are very impressed. It’s really great.
We have particularly been following your posts about Segovia as we visited there too. We have even written a guide, which you can check out here: http://hitchhikershandbook.com/country-guides/spain-2/segovia/. We would love your feedback and any tips, information, advice that you might have would be warmly appreciated.
Keep up the good work!
